Temperatures tonight are forecast to drop to about 35 degrees in Hazlet. Not quite freezing but cold enough for the more than 2,000 homes and businesses still without power. For those of you concerned about pipes freezing, here are some tips from the Weather Channel.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A FREEZE WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 8 AM EST MONDAY. THE FREEZE WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.


 

*** IMMEDIATE NEED FOR DONATIONS ***

The Donation Reception Center at Maranatha Baptist Church on Holmdel Road is in immediate need of KITCHEN SIZED garbage bags or LARGER. Other items in high demand:

-Clean socks
-New underwear of all types and sizes
-Blankets and sleeping bags
-Flashlights and batteries
-Toilet paper
-Kitchen paper products (plates, cups, utensils)
-Winter clothing of all types (coats, hats, gloves, scarves)

Under no condition should you attempt to deliver any items directly into Union Beach...you will be denied access to the town.
These donations should be brought directly to Maranatha Baptist Church on Holmdel Rd. or St. Benedict's on Bethany Rd.

Hazlet's Official Trick-or-Treating Events are TODAY ONLY. 1 PM at the High School and 2:30 at Beers Street School. See the event below for details.

ALSO - The Hazlet Citizens Leadership Council (the Trunk-or-Treat Organizers) need about SIX ADULT VOLUNTEERS AT EACH LOCATION to help with organization and administration of the event. PLEASE MAKE YOURSELF KNOWN TO CLIFF MOORE who may be found at the locations wearing a SAFETY YELLOW "OEM" VEST.

Township of Hazlet sponsored the ENTIRE Union Beach Fire Department & Emergency Medical Services for a hot dinner

This evening, the Township of Hazlet sponsored the ENTIRE Union Beach Fire Department & Emergency Medical Services for a hot dinner in a warm dry room at Beers Street School. Complete with an escort from the Hazlet Police Department and welcomed by an Honor Guard from the Hazlet Fire Co. No. 1, the Union Beach Heroes walked into the school through a double column of dedicated and cheering RAINE Foundation volunteers. — at Township of Hazlet.
