Davern Avenue Reconstruction Underway

The total reconstruction of Davern Avenue is well underway with the bulk of the funding coming from Federally-Designated Community Development Block Grant Funding, says Township Administrator Brian Valentino.

The CDBG program provides funding for development projects in certain census-designated neighborhoods that are defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Monmouth County CDBG Program then administers those funds locally with direction from the County CDBG Planning Committee. Administrator Valentino is Hazlet's voting member on that committee.
