** RELIEF SUPPLIES DIRECT FROM THE WEATHER CHANNEL STAFF AND THE PEOPLE OF ATLANTA **

My friend (and Monmouth County native) Jennifer Nittoso currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia where she is an on-air meteorologist with The Weather Channel (TWC). This morning, I received five boxes of supplies at my office in the Township of Hazlet Municipal Building that she collected in coordination with her friends and colleagues in Atlanta and TWC that are destined for the NMCC Beacon of Hope Distribution Center here in Hazlet and ultimately, the people who need it the most.

Thank you Atlanta and The Weather Channel!

*** JCP&L UPDATE ***

Let's start by saying, "don't shoot the messenger."

Our township administrator just got off yet another phone call with our area manager from JCP&L. He ran through the list of streets, homes and even specific utility pole numbers that JCP&L has neglected.

JCP&L is reporting that due to the snowfall, which is actually accumulating in other parts of the state and county, is causing tree limbs to fall and take out power lines supplying critical infrastructure like hospitals and critical facilities such as police stations, etc. This has caused JCP&L to reallocate field crews to deal with these issues.

Sorry folks. We are aggravated, too.
