What are the functions performed in the Municipal Clerk's Office?
  1. Maintains Records of the Official Minutes of the Governing Body, Meeting Agendas, Resolutions, Ordinances, Copies of Municipal Bonds, Audit Reports, Development Review Ordinance and Master Plan.

  2. Election Official: Maintains copies nominating petitions and certification to the county clerk of local candidates nominated by petition. Provides applications for voter registration, civilian and military absentee ballots and change of party declarations. Maintains copies of election results.

  3. Types of Licenses Issued: ABC (Liquor), Bingo, Raffles, Peddler and Solicitors, Taxi, Wreckers, Mobile Home Parks, Gas Stations, Temporary Use Permits, Business, Newspaper Vending Machines, Parking Lots, Auction, Alarm Systems, Coin Operated Amusement Machines and Soil Removal Permits.

 

Who collects solid waste for the Township?

Residents must hire a solid waste hauler whos is registered by the bureau of hazardous waste regulations, Trenton (609) 984-6900. Please ask the hauler for his Department of Environmental Protection (D.E.P) number. If the hauler is unable to provide you with a number, You can contact the bureau for verification at the above telephone number. The following are D.E.P. certified solid waste haulers:

Department Of Health - Located in Veterans’ Memorial Park at 1766 Union Avenue.

Construction Department - Located in Veterans’ Memorial Park at 1766 Union Avenue.

Recreation Department - Located at 1776 Union Ave, Cullen Center

Public Works Department - Located at the end of Leocadia Court. Leocadia court is the 3rd right turn off Laurel Avenue

Planning & Zoning Department - Located in Veterans’ Memorial Park at 1766 Union Avenue.

Police Department - Located at 255 Middle Road

What is the procedure for requesting a certified list?

All requests for a certified list are to be made in writing to the Township Tax Assessor. Upon receipt of the request the Assessor will within seven days, make and certify a list of property owners within 200 feet of the subject property. The written request may be by letter or by an application form available in the Assessor’s office. All requests must identify the subject property by block and lot numbers. A ten-dollar ($10.00) fee is required for all applications. There may be an additional fee if there is more than one block and lot or the list of names is over a certain number. Checks are to be made to the Township of Hazlet.
