Hazlet Township Police Department is investigating residential burglaries
The Hazlet Township Police Department is investigating 4 residential burglaries that have occurred between May 31st and June 18th. All of the burglaries were located in the center part of town in neighborhoods off of Middle Road. The suspect had pried locked windows and doors to gain entry to the residences. Taken was cash, jewelry and electronic items. The burglaries happened in daylight hours and in one case a homeowner came home for lunch and heard someone in his house, the suspect jumped out of a window and fled down Virginia Ave.
On 6/18/2012 Police arrested Abraham Feliciano, 30, of Keansburg for possession of burglary tools and defiant trespass. Mr. Feliciano was spotted by residents that were aware of the recent burglaries and they immediately notified Police. The Police responded in less than a minute and arrested Mr. Feliciano in a backyard of a home on Virginia Ave. He is presently incarcerated in the Monmouth County Jail on Hazlet charges and violation of probation out of Ocean County. The prior burglaries are still under investigation. Residents are asked to remain vigilant and call the Police if they observe any suspicious activity.
