Mission Statement

The Hazlet Alliance exists to meet the need for a comprehensive and coordinated substance abuse plan and program to prevent and reduce alcohol and drug abuse in our community, in cooperation with the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and with the Monmouth County Board of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services.

What The
Alliance Is All About...
The Hazlet Township Alliance to Prevent Alcoholism & Drug Abuse is an organization comprised of members of the community, including teachers, parents, administrators, community members and police. Through education, workshops, lectures, and sponsorships of drug and alcohol free youth programs, the organization focuses on drug, alcohol, and violence prevention in our community and schools.

How To Join The Alliance
The Alliance usually meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month at
7pm in the courtroom at the Hazlet Police Dept. Anyone wishing to join can come to the meeting.

Jan-Feb – Caution without Fear, a 6 wk prevention program for all 4th graders

 Feb-April - BABES for 2nd graders, a 7 week prevention program K-6 schools, Wed MR & LD, Thurs BS & SS, Fri. CS & RV10:42-3:15

April 23 – 11th grade binge drinking/poisoning info during all health classes

April 25 – Rude Awakening program for 12th graders Mater Dei 8:30-1:30 pm

April 25 – presentation for senior citizens mixing meds & alcohol 1:30 pm Cullen Center
May 9 - a pre-prom assembly for the juniors about the dangers of drinking and driving  time TBA
May 15 - TIGS/Youth Alliance presents UBU skit to 8th graders time TBA

May 21 – 12 grade presentation on alcohol poisoning thru health classes

 June 4 - ñLifeÍs Lessonsî by Ellen Lurig – pre-prom assembly for 12th graders 1:00 pm RHS

August 25-29 - drug prevention leadership camp for high school students Camp Mason
Sept 8-30 – Safe Homes Pledges at HMS

Sept-Nov – Peer Proof, a 6 week prevention program for all 6th graders all K-6 schools

Sept-June, - Be Cool program at RHS yearlong program
Oct 5 - Hazlet Day, stop at our drug and alcohol prevention information table for the community 10-4
October 20-25 - Red Ribbon Week, a week of planned prevention activities in the schools
October 21 - Parenting Workshop TBA
  Nov. 12 - TATU students hold presentation for 6th graders (Teens Against Tobacco Use) TBA
Nov. 20 -Great American Smoke-out RHS 8-2:15 pm

Dec 4 - Every 15 minutes program at RHS

Dec 8 - Fatal Vision Program for 10th graders all health classes 8-2:15
Dec. 10 - candlelight vigil at RHS for December Drunk Driving Awareness Month
