Michael Sachs-Bio

Michael Sachs is a life-long resident of Hazlet. He is a Republican. A 1977 graduate of Raritan High School he was first elected to the Township Committee in 1997.  He has served as Mayor and Deputy Mayor during the following terms: 

  • Mayor in 2000 
  • Deputy Mayor / Mayor 2004 - 2005
  • Mayor 2007
  • Deputy Mayor - 2011 - 2012
  • Mayor 2015
  • Deputy Mayor - 2021, 2022
  • Mayor - 2022, 2023

Committeeman Sachs has also served on Hazlet’s Zoning Board, Planning Board (Chairman) and its Unified Land Use Board (Chairman 2018). Sachs and his wife Kathy have two children, Nicole and Cody.
