Monmouth County residents can bring unwanted paper to any of the following shredding events. The hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations:
- Saturday, Aug. 19: Hazlet - Hazlet Swim & Tennis Club Parking Lot, 1766 Union Ave. (Use Middle Road entrance.)
- Saturday, Sept 9: Colts Neck - Town Hall Parking Lot, 124 Cedar Drive
- Saturday, Sept 23: Freehold Twp. - Freehold Twp. Municipal Bldg., 1 Municipal Plaza
- Saturday, Oct. 7: Millstone - Millstone Park, 4
- Red Valley Rd.
- Saturday, Oct. 21: Bradley Beach -1015 Main St.
- Saturday, Nov 4: Allenhurst - Beach Club at the end of Corlies Ave. near Ocean Ave.
- Saturday, Nov 18: Middletown - Middletown High School North, 63 Tindall Dr.
Residents may shred up to 100 pounds, which is equivalent to four office paper boxes or four large-sized trash bags. All papers will be shredded on location in the mobile trucks and the event will end once the mobile trucks are full or its scheduled end time. Large binder clips must be removed from documents; staples and paper clips can remain.
“These free events not only help residents declutter their homes but also can protect their personal information that may be on files such as bank statements, medical records, legal documents and utility bills from identity thieves," said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Monmouth County Department of Public Works and Engineering.
