Hazlet Township is now hiring 2023 summer employees. 

Job applications are posted below for Hazlet Recreation Summer Camp and Hazlet Swim Club. Instructions on how to apply are on the forms. 

Age Minimum

Applicants must be at least 15 years old by May 16, 2023, to apply for jobs at the Swim Club. Lifeguards must be at least 16. Summer Camp counselors must be 17 years old or high school seniors. 

Working papers for anyone under 18 at the time of employment must be obtained from the applicant's hometown high school guidance office.

Students on spring break are encouraged to call for an interview while home!

Swim Club

  • Head Manager with CPO certification

*Lifeguard should be First Aid, CPR/AED certified. If you are, please include copies of your certifications. If you are presently in the process of certifying and anticipated a completion date, please let us know. We will also provide training to those who would need to be certified.

Tentative Schedule

Both Summer Camp and Swim Club positions are outdoor jobs. Work hours are subject to change due to weather.

Swim Club

Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The work day ranges from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. for set up, break down / clean up and swim instruction. 

The 2023 operating schedule is 

  • Weekends Only May 27 to June 25, including Memorial Day on May 29.  
  • Open Daily June 26 to September 4.

Shifts are 5 or 6 hours long, depending on the job. The typical work week is 35 hours. All hours are subject to change due to Special Events, Holidays, and Maintenance. 

A mandatory training meeting will be announced prior to the season. Applicants will be informed. 

Rec Camp

Hazlet Summer Camp runs weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The work day ranges from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In 2023, Camp is a 7-week program beginning June 26 through August 11. (Closed July 4).

The typical workweek is 40 hours. Some positions require applicants to be on site before and after camp hours for preparation or child care. 

A mandatory training meeting to be held prior to the season. Applicants will be informed.
