Presumptive positive case of COVID-19 - March 9, 2020

Hazlet Township Administration was formally notified by Monmouth County Department of Health Officials regarding a “presumptive positive” case of COVID-19 at approximately 1:05 PM today. An eighty-three year old patient from Hazlet Township is currently being treated at Hackensack Meridian Health Bayshore Medical Center.

After first responders and other key Officials were alerted, the Mayor and Township Committee were advised of the information received and then further briefed by various Officials throughout the day. Communications are ongoing between all and will continue as details and specifics regarding this event unfold.

Hazlet Township Officials, Departments and Agencies routinely prepare for a wide range of responsiveness and have positive working experiences with the County and State. At this point we ask all to stay calm and simply follow the directions of the CDC, State, County and Township. We will continue to keep  residents informed with any relevant information as appropriate and when received.
