How to Vote

Voters must be registered with the county by October 12  to participate in the 2021 General Election. Registration information.

New Jersey voters have 3 options for voting in the 2021 General Election:

  • In-person early voting on machines at designated early voting polling locations from October 23 through October 31. Hours are Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.. In Hazlet, this will be at the Cullen Center, 1776 Union Ave.

  • By Mail-In Ballot. In Hazlet, the drop-box is located at Airport Plaza, in front of the MVC office. Vote by mail ballots were sent out September 18.

    To vote by mail, voters must first complete a Vote by Mail Ballot Application. The application can be obtained from the County Clerk’s Elections webpage at MonmouthCountyVotes.com, on the County Clerk’s Monmouth County Votes Mobile App, or by visiting the County Clerk’s Elections Office or Municipal Clerk of their hometown.
    Applications to Vote by Mail that are sent by U.S. Mail must be received by the County Clerk’s Office seven days before an election. For the Nov. 2 Primary Election, the date is Tuesday, Oct. 26.

    Voters may also apply in-person at the County Clerk’s Elections Office located at 300 Halls Mill Road in Freehold up until 3 p.m. the day before the election. When applying in person, voters can obtain and cast their mail-in ballot early. Voters may submit their ballot to the County Board of Elections for counting either in-person at the Board of Elections at 300 Halls Mill Road or via one of the County’s ballot drop box locations.

  • On Election Day (Tuesday, November 2) in-person on voting machines at their assigned polling location
